The Battle for Your Life: The Armor of God – Part 3

Good News!!

Good has conquered evil!

Do you live in this victory the Christ has wrested from the enemy?

Or, are you discouraged when you can’t seem to rise above your circumstances, leaving you feeling weak and powerless?

Nay! I say Nay! [said in a loud, deep, rumbling voice ;]

Rather

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!                                                Philippians 4:4 NAS

  • Time’s up, satan!
  • Victory is God’s!
  • Just ask your minions!

Time’s up, satan!

satan knows his time of influence on earth is limited.

12 “For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”                                    Revelation 12:12 NAS

Victory is God’s!

God’s triumph over His enemy (and ours!) is a done deal, through the work of His Son.

14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.                                          Hebrews 2:14-15 NAS

Just ask your minions!

Even the demons of satan know their fate.

29 And they cried out, saying, “What business do we have with each other, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”             Matthew 8:29 NAS

The war between God and satan is over!

How?

Through the love of Christ:

  • By His sacrifice
  • By His crucifixion
  • By His death
  • By His life
  • By His resurrection

By His sacrifice

Yeshua showed us His love by His actions.

13 “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.                                   John 15:13 NAS

14 “I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, 15 even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16 “I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd. 17 “For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. 18 “No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.”                          John 10:14-18 NAS

As YeHoVaH

16 “… so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.                                  John 3:16 NAS

So, also, did Jesus:

2b just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.                 Ephesians 5:2 NAS

And so, we, too, are to love

2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.             Ephesians 5:2 NAS

By His crucifixion

Yeshua, even as the Son of Man, did not sin against YeHoVaH.

21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.                                   2 Corinthians 5:21 NAS

Nevertheless, Jesus took upon Himself the sins of humanity.

24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.                                   1 Peter 2:24 NAS

Jesus assuaged sin, by the giving of His life.

26b but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.                   Hebrews 9:26 NAS

By His death

As the life of an unblemished lamb (Exodus 12:5) was required for the angel of death to “pass-over” the Israelites and spare their firstborn, so, too, do we need the sacrifice of an “unblemished lamb” for death to “pass-over” us and spare us from death due to our sin (Romans 6:23).

12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD, 13 waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET.               Hebrews 10:12-14 NAS

By His life

Yes, there are consequences to disobeying God.

25 For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality.               Colossians 3:25 NAS

But, thanks be to the Father, that is not the end.

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.                     Romans 6:23 NAS

24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.                              John 5:24 NAS

Rather, it’s the Beginning!

Eternal Life!

By His resurrection

When Yeshua arose from death, He put an end to the devil’s power of death as a weapon against humankind.

14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.                  Hebrews 2:14, 15 NAS

Yes, Good has triumphed over evil!

33 “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”                                   John 16:33 NAS

55 “O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?”                               1 Corinthians 15:55 NAS and Hosea 13:14 NAS

Victory?

So, where’s my victory?

Good question.

More

…. Later.

Blessings,

Be a Berean!

10The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.                   Acts 17:10, 11 ESV
