Did You Have A “Hoppy Easter”?

Hooray!

It’s Spring.

A time of renewal, regeneration, Resurrection.

A time to remember once again, realize afresh, and rejoice anew, the Life, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus, the Son of God, the Lord, Yeshua, the Messiah.

And to reflect.

Did You Have A “Hoppy Easter”?

Did the Easter Bunny bring lots of candy and eggs, and candy and toys, and candy?

(Did I mention candy?)

Did you go to an Easter Sunrise Service, followed by pancakes?

(See By Dawn’s Early Light: A Visit to God’s Acre to read about a Moravian Easter.)

Did you celebrate the Feast of the LORD – Passover – enjoying a holy Sabbath with family, friends, Yeshua, the Ruach HaKodesh, and YeHoVaH?

Did you dye eggs for Easter?

Or hide eggs for Easter?

Or hide dyed eggs for Easter?

Did you think about Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane?

Did you empathize with His conflict?

Did you feel His distress?

34 And He said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved to the point of death; remain here and keep watch.”                                                       Mark 14:34 NASB

Did you stay awake in prayer, or was “the spirit willing, but the flesh weak”?

Did you recognize Yeshua as the Passover lamb, the Passover sacrifice?

Did you know we who are His are marked by His blood as protection from the Angel of Death?

Did you fall into a sugar coma while the kids raced around on a sugar high?

Did you take time to reflect on what the meaning of the Life, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus, the Christ, has on your life and death and resurrection to eternal life?

Did you consider “What if Yeshua, in the Garden of Gethsemane, had not decided and determined ‘not My will, but Yours’ “?

Did you eat a breakfast casserole with lots of bacon?

Did you eat ham, with deviled eggs as a side dish, for lunch?

(Did you ever read Leviticus 11?  Note the words of Peter interpreting his vision:

28 And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a man who is a Jew to associate with a foreigner or to visit him; and yet God has shown me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean.

34 Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, 35 but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him.                                                         Acts 10:28,34-35 NASB

The vision wasn’t about food. It’s about calling people clean or unclean.)

Did you consider the loss, the grief, the despair of the Disciples, at the death of Jesus?

Did you experience the sublime joy of the Disciples when they knew “He is risen. He is risen indeed”?

Did you wrap, hide, then later reveal, the middle piece of matzah bread (a shadow picture of the Messiah which, even today, is in the rabbinic Jewish Seder ritual)?

Did you remember the reason for Easter in the middle of the Egg Hunt?

Did you make sure to buy everyone in the family new clothes to wear to church Easter Sunday?

Did you put as much effort in celebrating the Resurrection of Yeshua as you did in preparing and celebrating the Passover meal and the eight-day Feast of Unleavened Bread?

Did you hunt for the biggest, candyest, over-the-top Easter Basket?

Did you try to focus on the “reason for the (Easter) season”?

Did you succeed more, or less, than at Christmas?

Did you extend an invitation to people you know, Christian and non-Christian, to experience the Passover, to see and understand the prophetic shadow picture, connecting the Old Testament with the New?

Did you dare to do “Easter” a little different?

Did you celebrate with all joy, rejoicing in the Lord?

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!                                                   Philippians 4:4 NASB

Did you worship in gratitude, with thanksgiving?

4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.                                                     Psalm 100:4 NASB

Did you receive, or re-receive, the gift and blessing of eternal life, offered through the blood of the resurrected Son of God?

14 “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.                                                    John 3:14-15 NASB

Did you?

Think about it.

And let me know.

Blessings,
